The annual Feeding the Soul of the City fundraiser was held on March 27, 2025 at Wilderness Ridge. Thanks to generous corporate and individual sponsors, the guests who attended, and the many individuals who gave donations before the event, over $161,000 was raised to support critical outreach and homeless prevention programs that help individuals and families find stability and a place to call home.
This year’s event was a “Chef Showdown” where Lincoln’s top chefs from the Country Club of Lincoln, Dish, Pillars Culinary Team, and Wilderness Ridge competed to create the most delicious gourmet bites. D-Wayne Taylor served as emcee and Larry the Cable Guy was a special guest entertainer. Attendees also enjoyed an inspiring video about two clients in Matt Talbot’s transitional housing program (check it out below!).
Guests at the sold-out event selected Chef Lorin Dagel from the Country Club of Lincoln as the top chef, but the community was the big winner of this epic culinary battle.
“This event keeps our community strong by sustaining programs that serve our neighbors experiencing poverty and homelessness, “said Alynn Sampson, Matt Talbot’s Executive Director. “Substance use, addiction, and homelessness are complex battles, but we know there are pathways to recovery and are so grateful for the community’s support of our efforts.”
