MONTHLY UPDATES
June
Volunteers are the backbone of Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach. Whether it is purchasing ingredients, preparing food, serving a meal, helping at the reception desk, working in the garden, or hosting a donation drive or special event-- we appreciate your investment of time and resources and want to assist you in any way we can. Here are the latest updates:
Garden Produce Donations Through AmpleHarvest.org
We are very excited to participate in AmpleHarvest.org this summer!
Have extra produce from your garden? You can make a real difference. Through Ample Harvest, local gardeners are invited to donate surplus fruits and vegetables to organizations like Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach that serve individuals and families in need.
Your fresh produce helps provide nutritious options to those who may not otherwise have access.
Thank you for helping us nourish our community.
A Special Thank You
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to two of our long-time Hunger Relief Teams for their years of dedication and service.
The United Methodist Church team, led by Maggie Bates, and St. John’s Talbot Lunch Bunch, led by Tini Van-Oehlertz, have both made a lasting impact through their commitment to serving our community.
Their generosity, consistency, and compassion have touched countless lives, and their presence will be deeply missed.
We are incredibly thankful for the time, energy, and care they have given over the years.
On behalf of everyone at Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach, thank you for being such an important part of our mission.

Ways to Serve a Meal
There are several flexible options for teams interested in serving:
Provide, Prepare & Serve: Teams purchase ingredients, prepare the meal, and serve it. This option helps reduce food costs, allowing more resources to go toward housing and case management services.
Pay & Serve: Teams make a $300 donation to cover food costs, and staff prepare the meal while volunteers serve.
Sides & Serve: Teams provide side dishes while staff prepare the main entrée, helping share the cost of the meal.
Kitchen Supply Update
We currently have boneless, skinless chicken breasts and thighs available for team use, as well as Chick-fil-A.
At this time, we do not have ground beef available. We are actively working to get more into the kitchen and will keep you updated as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you for your flexibility and support!
Volunteer T-Shirts
Volunteer T-shirts are in! If you have not yet received your shirt, please contact Victoria to make arrangements for pickup.
Save the Date for Huskers Helping the Homeless!
The 30th annual Huskers Helping the Homeless is officially scheduled for October 10! Mark your calendars now and keep your eyes peeled for more information to come.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Anthony or me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for all that you do to support our guests and our mission.
