A full list of Matt Talbot’s services is available below.

  • Meals 

    Hot nutritious meals are offered every day from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 6:30 pm.  All are welcome. Outreach staff are available during meals  Monday - Friday to assist with basic needs and provide information and referrals.  

  • Fresh Choice Pantry and Pre-Packaged Food Pantries

    People in need of food assistance can select fresh and shelf-stable food from our pantry monthly. The pantry is open on Mondays (1 pm – 3 pm), Wednesdays (1 pm - 3 pm), Thursdays (5 pm - 6:30 pm), and Fridays (1 pm – 3 pm). To sign up for a time to visit the pantry, talk with someone at the outreach desk between 11 am - 1 pm. Individuals unable to come when the pantry is open can request a non-perishable food box during outreach hours (Monday – Friday from 11 am - 1 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm) or by appointment.

  • Foot Clinics

    Nursing and physician assistant students from Union Adventist University provide adult foot care, including soaking feet and trimming toenails. Individuals receive free socks and are eligible for free shoes once a year. Clinics are held in the fall and spring. Talk with staff during outreach hours (Monday – Friday from 11 am - 1 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm) for more information. 

  • Flu Shots

    Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department provides flu and other immunizations during the winter months.

  • Mailing Address and On-Site Message Services

    Speak with an outreach staff member to get enrolled in this program. Mail pick-up times are Monday – Friday from 11 am – 1 pm and 5 pm - 6:30 pm or by appointment.  Messages are posted on the board in the dining room.

  • Homelesss Identification Program

    Assists people experiencing homelessness with obtaining birth certificates and State IDs. To learn more, speak with an outreach staff member during outreach hours (Monday – Friday from 11 am - 1 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm) or call to schedule an appointment.

  • SNAP Assistance

    A representative from the Food Bank is at Matt Talbot on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, and on Fridays from 12:15 pm – 2 pm to assist with obtaining and maintaining SNAP benefits. 

  • Shower and Laundry Services

    Only offered for people experiencing homelessness.  Available Monday – Friday at no cost.  Speak with an outreach staff member during outreach hours (Monday – Friday 11 am - 1 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm) or by appointment to get enrolled in this program.

  • Haircuts

    Available once every 30 days. Supplies are limited. Vouchers can be redeemed at the College of Hair Design downtown on Wednesdays. Speak with an outreach staff member during outreach hours (Monday - Friday 11 am – 1 pm or 5 pm - 6:30 pm) for more information or to obtain a voucher. 

  • Screening for Housing Eligibility

    Housing opportunities are available for homeless individuals and families who meet certain eligibility guidelines. Screening is available by appointment.

  • Gasoline Vouchers

    Available starting the first business day of the month. Supplies are limited.  Must have proof of insurance, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile registration. Individuals can receive one voucher every 6 months. 

  • Substance Use Services

    Substance use counseling and drug/alcohol evaluations are available for people experiencing homelessness who are19 years old or older.  Contact Chris Hruza  at 402-817-0608 for more information. An 8 and 15-hour Alcohol Education class occurs quarterly and is open to the community for a fee.

  • AA Meeting

    AA Meetings are held on Tuesdays from 5 - 6 pm. Attendees are welcome to stay for dinner which is served until 6:30 pm.

Our Services

Everyone is welcome to walk through our open doors and get a hot prepared meal twice a day, every day of the year. Lunch is served from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and dinner is served from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. The Fresh Choice Pantry is open 4 days a week, and pre-packaged food pantries are also available.

Addressing Addiction

Free substance evaluations, counseling, weekly AA meetings, and alcohol & drug education classes help those who struggle with substance use and addiction.

Providing Outreach

Our extensive outreach and advocacy services connect individuals with resources that go beyond daily meals to meet other basic, emergency, and health needs.
