A Christmas Wish of Wholeness, Renewal, and Infinite Love

A wreath is a beautiful symbol of the season representing wholeness, renewal, and infinite love. As I placed a wreath on our door last week I thought of Beth, a client who experienced incredible renewal over the past two years.

Beth came to Matt Talbot for meals when she was homeless and struggling with substance use. She wanted help with her addiction but couldn’t follow through with any treatment plans. She couldn’t even remember where she was staying from night to night.

Beth started attending pre-treatment support groups facilitated at Matt Talbot which helped her prepare for treatment and stay connected to the treatment facility as she waited for a spot to open. When a bed became available, a counselor from Matt Talbot drove her to treatment.

After treatment Beth moved into our Transitions House where she received intensive case management and worked on goals such as maintaining sobriety, finding employment, and saving money. She stayed in the program just over a year and recently moved into a new apartment with her son. They are looking forward to a Merry Christmas together!

Your gift to Matt Talbot provides renewal and love to people like Beth who struggle with homelessness and addiction. Please give generously!

This year my wreath hangs in honor of Beth and all the guests of Matt Talbot who show us time and time again that renewal is possible - for all of us.

God Bless You and Merry Christmas!
