Matt Talbot’s Nutrition Coordinator oversees the planting and maintaining of a vegetable and herb garden on the grounds of Matt Talbot where guests and volunteers can learn some of the skills of horticulture. Many guests and volunteers help with gardening activities.
Uses for Hope Garden expanded in 2017 through a collaboration with Community CROPS, the community gardening program in Lincoln. We are excited about becoming a CROPS site where a family in the community is assigned a plot in Hope Garden and plants, maintains, and harvests their own vegetables.
Matt Talbot maintains four of the raised beds in order to have vegetables and herbs available for our cooking classes. Come take a tour if you have never seen our lovely Hope Garden—we’d love to show you around.
