Food for Thought

On September 6, 1992 Matt Talbot served it's first meal to the hungry and homeless of Lincoln.  More then twenty-five years and 2 million meals later, Matt Talbot is now a permanent fixture of Lincoln's safety net with volunteers providing meals and professional staff offering a wide range of outreach services to prevent and alleviate homelessness.

There is lots to celebrate at MTKO recently - our 25th anniversary and Mary Costello's Founder Award at the Lincoln Journal Star's Inspire event to name a few. But even more cause for celebration is this! This chart illustrates the reason we exist. In August alone we provided 9,326 meals and 3,856 outreach and homeless prevention services to 1,094 unduplicated clients.
